i am sort of scratching my head here, Its one thing that you ordered a custom frame is a specific size and the builder has taken the liberty to adjust to his preferred bike geometry. But its a completely different thing to have the custom paint job not meet your specs, you clearly stated the emblem should mirror the brake hole and be on top of wishbone, not the middle. Why do we spend money for customization if we are not getting what we want? While it's a lovely bike, at minimum the paint should be recitifed or trust me you will never be satisfied.

That said the paint looks awesome

I'm glad all of you share my aesthetic preferences.
I was half wondering if anyone would find the current result to be a lucky accident.

As for the headtube and for the overall paint job, I kept it simple since the base paint colour is relatively flashy with tonal shifts, and silver was a rather neutral but still contrasting accent colour (i initially wanted Bianchi Celeste)

In hindsight, maybe i could have done abit more on the visual interest.
But I imagined the end product is supposed to be a sum of the parts put together.

it's not the end of the world but the ball was dropped for sure

they certainly should either make it right or give a discount

I wholeheartedly agree with you both - its all about the details and the materialization of the mind's vision.

Good news for now is that the paintshop committed to make good on the issues - Fingers crossed for a good outcome.

I certainly hope you get to enjoy it-it’s special.
Thank you, I hope the end result exceeds my expectations as well.

Real glad they're taking another pass at it. Though, I would recommend shrinking those flower logos on the top tube and seat tube. It's much bigger than Yamaguchi's typical logos there, if that is of any interest to you!

i noticed too but i do like the bolder logo at the top tube
the seat tube flower and downtube logo was intentionally made larger by request.

some extra pictures (pre-rectification) i just received yesterday:

And this is the re-work on the wishbone and driveside signature on top tube

It should be all set to be packed in a box.

I agree with your choice to only adjust these two. The others look good. Thanks for sharing more pictures, always nice to take a moment from work and look at Yamaguchis.

Thank you, the pleasure is mine.

I suppose for those of us who share pictures and stories about our bicycles, we want an audience of like-minded people who appreciate our pursuits and what friends and family might find difficult to understand.

Glad the repaint is finally done, I have to say it looks very good, will be good to get your impressions when you have it back and can start building.

thanks all for the continued interest, I've just moved countries for work, so its been hectic moving about and I'm living out of suitcases for now.

I'll get updates out when i settle down and refocus on the build.
The new city is decidedly more bike friendly..=))
