New bike? which one?
I've always had relatively inexpensive bikes and it seems like a hard time for someone like me to spend $5000 and only obtain Ultegra. I think that I need to do it.
Which frame do I buy? I'm looking to get my back flat as possible and open the hip angle. I'm thinking that more modern bikes with shorter top tubes and steeper seat angles might help, but the shorter crank should also help. Of course I would like to have the weight down and I want aero, but really need something that works the back right while keeping pressure off the scrotum. Canyon Endurace? Look Huez? A quinta roo sr5? BMC? I need some ideas. Current Fuji # head tube 180 seat tube 540 angles 73 reach 403 stack 579 Thanks Last edited by n1ey; 04-28-2022 at 07:29 PM. |

It's a little hard to offer good advice with this amount of info. Is there something about the fit of your current bike that feels off? If your Fuji feels like it fits you well, you can compare geo using bikeinsights.com and find a more "serious" road bike with similar geo.

Can you test ride any bikes in your area?
A professional bike fit could help you narrow down frame geometry. All the major brands could have something that would work. Specialized Tarmac Cannondale Evo Trek Emonda Deals are out there if you look. |

No matter the bike, there shouldn't be any pressure on the scrotum. Sounds to me like you could use a professional bike fit, and the fitter can give you proper guidance on what territory of bike would work.

since OP was in April and not back since, I think we can end this one. In any case, the answer is find a respected local bike shop and let them get you on the right size. If you have started riding with groups, seek out their advice. Come back here when the question has been narrowed down.

Saddle choices are always down to numerous variables
Have you determined, proper width , shape and padding options ? A great source to check is www.sellesmp.it They post a detailed saddle range chart to help you chose what might work for you The US Importer , www.albabici.com , offer an excellent offer to try their saddles Simply chose a few that you feel you would like Then order DEMO versions . Once you decide which model works best , send DEMO 's back , and they will ship you model and color that you want I personally use their Composit model on a number of my bikes I prefer the narrower width , body and relief channels as well as the feel of it I also ordered them in different colours to compliment the different bikes I also use f I z I k Airione and Alante saddles on some of my other bikes |

Suggestion
Perhaps you can visit a local bicycle shop to make your selection. This way, you might find exactly what you're looking for.

While you're updating the fit...(Check out Trek Domane SL5 Gen 4)
Quote:
My custom Gunnar was based on a Trek Domane (endurance frame), and I think it has a stack of about 590 for a reach of 380. I found the Domane to be an instantly fantastic riding bike geometry. Those figures were for a labeled 'size' of 56cm. Definitely feel free to ignore that number. The current Trek Domane SL5 Gen 4 looks pretty sweet, at $3,499, and Trek's website shows you can get it in a 54 or 56 still. I think they have a great ride satisfaction guarantee, too (return policy). Look here: LINK: Trek Domane SL5 Gen 4 I have no current relationship with Trek, however I worked in a shop that sold them, and I got along great with their geometry. Hope this helps, -R |
