Hoj Art -- Bicycle Art, Illustrations & Prints!
Hi all,
It's taken me a while to finally sit down and put this thread together -- better late than never, right? I'm a dabbling artist currently based out of North Carolina with a primary focus on pen & ink illustrations of bicycles and their components (as well as the occasional automobile!). Art is not my day job, but more or less a hobby/passion that has taken on a little life of its own since I began selling prints of my work back in 2014. As of 2021, my art can be found hanging in more than 2,000 homes and businesses around the world, and has been on display at places like the Campagnolo headquarters in Vicenza, the Bianchi Bicycles and Cafe in Milan, and most recently at the Basso Bicycle headquarters in Treviso, Italy. And if you are local to Los Angeles, you can find a number of my prints currently on display at The Dropout Cyclery in Torrance, CA (tell the shop owner Jonathan I say hello!). My intent with this thread is to use it to feature new work, print sales, etc., and if you have questions about my art or are interested in learning more, don't hesitate to reach out via DM. You can also find more at my personal site (www.hoj.art), and I am active on Instagram under the handle @hoj_art. A couple additional notes:
Thanks all! Look forward to interacting with you in the months/years to come. Last edited by hoj; 12-03-2021 at 11:41 AM. |

I like your work, I have been meaning to order something from you.
How do you pick what to draw next?

But when it's something I'm just working on for the fun of it, I take a lot of inspiration from what I consider "iconic" and recognizable pieces of cycling history -- naturally, a lot of vintage Campy parts fall in this category and have been the focus or backdrop of a lot of my previous illustrations. The good (or perhaps overwhelming?) thing is that I feel like I've only really scratched the surface on the list of things I want to add to my illustration portfolio -- there's just simply not enough extra time in the day for me to process through it all. It's otherwise hard to describe what really gets me excited though -- it's often one of those "you-know-it-when-you-see-it" things. One thing for sure is that if I'm not intrinsically stoked or passionate about the idea from the outset, it usually doesn't make it very far through the illustration process. Even things that I am stoked on initially can and often do fade away into my ever-increasing bin of unfinished pieces. I also love to hear/receive recommendations/suggestions! If you peruse my site and find that I'm missing something obvious that you think would mesh well with my style and interests, reach out and let me know. |

Is this one of yours? My wife bought it before our wedding and it was used for the guests to write a message on.

Order placed, excited for arrival. I’m trying to dress up my home office for zoom calls.

Very nice art, with several items I admire and own. I'll have to place an order!

Just a quick bump for anyone interested in bicycle-themed illustrations and prints for gifts this holiday season.
My processing/turnaround time on shipping out prints this time of year is usually 1-2 days (although with the state of the postal system as of late, it nevers hurts to order sooner than later!). Also a reminder that all Paceliners get 20% off prints on my website using the code "PL20OFF" during checkout! Happy holidays and thanks to all who have already placed orders! |
