Masi 3V Volumetrica Question

Was curious if anyone has owned and or ridden one of these and any thoughts on it. I've owned another classic with oversized tubes (De Rosa Primato) and thought it was the nicest riding steel bike I've been on.

Best handling bike I have ever ridden. A bit flexible in the BB, but then again I'm 6'4" and 200+.

The one w/ internal lugs? I knew this guy who had one a loong time ago... and he didn´t care for it that much. He was a short guy and the bike was small. ymmv.
I always thought it looked great btw.

I sold a lot of those back in the day... took each for a test ride. They ride great!

I have one in a larger size at 62 cm C-T, I feel like it’s the first modern race bike Masi produced. Quite stiff as opposed to comfortable vintage. Very responsive, corners on rails. I suspect it may border on slightly harsh if you are under about 150 pounds, but I am 190, so what do I know?
I have also owned a Primato, and the 3V is a different animal– it’s screams “Go fast! Your comfort is secondary!” while the Primato is quick and butter smooth.

Thanks, Steve! This is great feedback. I've been surprised by the kind of prices I've seen these going for.

Keep me in the loop if you plan on letting it go

I've briefly owned a 3V Volumetrica, and have put several thousand miles on a NeoPrimato.

I second everything Steve says here... my feelings exactly.

That thing was pretty.

I owned another (actually a reproduction) and sold it here... even more of a gorgeous thing. Never built it up.

Bike porn.

Welcome.
What size are you looking for? There seem to be a few cycling through Craigslist here in California fairly routinely.

Twarts Masi

Here is thwarts after i road it a couple summers. Sold to another forumite, who had one as his first race bike i think. He prettied it up with a matching stem, post and steel fork(original spec'd with AL). He sent this pic just b4 rebuilding.....

It sure was snappy. And typically wish i still had it.
