Basic computer to use with Power meter

I have an old powertap wheel and now a stages crank that came with a bike I bought, but nothing to use as a head unit to verify that they work. What is the most basic Garmin/computer that would pair with both? Edge 500? A few of them have been offered pretty cheaply here of late so wouldn't be a big investment to try it out.

a Garmin 500 will pair to a powermeter but I am not sure at the same time? Are you asking at pairing both PM's at the same time?

If you just want to verify that the power meter works, you might be able to use a smart phone, if you have one that has ant+ capabilities. I know that several Samsung phones have ant+ radios, there are probably a few others. If you've got a smart phone with ant+, then you'd just need to download an app to connect to the power meter.

Edge 500 will probably be your best bet at ~$50.

If your powertap is the super old wired variety, you will need a powertap computer.

I just want to verify that each one works, not use them at the same time. I hadnt thought about using the phone, but apparently my samsung s8 active is supposed to have ant+ capabilities. Guess I need to go app shopping. Any recommendations? This will just be to test them, if they work and I decide to use them (on different bikes) I'll probably get something else.

Stages and Powertap both have phone apps. The Stages app does calibration and software updates.

Stages will connect through Bluetooth. So will an app on an Android phone. I have a Samsung s8 and use the ridewithgps app. Bluetooth can be a bit touchy and you have to follow the steps recommended in the app(s). Stages app will calibrate and update the firmware on the device also.
