For those decrying the offering, compare it to another bougie drop:

https://granfondo-cycling.com/bmc-ro...mpc-2021-news/

With the Masterpiece, or Mpc. for short, BMC present an exclusive version of the Roadmachine road bike. In addition to an extremely elaborate manufacturing process, the price also is a unique selling point: the Swiss are calling for no less than a five-digit sum for the frameset. All further information on the black diamond can be found here.

$10,000 EU for the frameset, which is nothing more than a made-in-house version of their production road-machine...

The Vanilla-SV doesn't seem so egregious in light of that.

I think the dark blue with the silver bits will look fantastic.

I thought for a while about the silver but was afraid the contrast wouldn’t be shape enough with the polished bits.

The Sacha/DeSalvo bikes are indescribable in how they ride. Seriously.

I owned my 2011 up until last year, and anyone that knows me knows that I go through bikes, but that one held special to me.. I would honestly buy it back but the new owner (Lives in my city) feels the same I felt about riding it. He says it's one of the best riding bikes he's owned.

I see how people can dislike the brash marketing of Vanilla, but the early bikes ride amazingly good. My best friend has a 2014 Ghost and loves it. I heard the paint quality went downhill at some point, but my 2011 held up for 7 years with no significant paint flaking or cracking. Smaller operation at that time with more attention to detail. If you can find an early SV/Vanilla frame, SWOOP ON IT! Run them with Deep section wheels and you'll be smiling from ear to ear.

I bet these completes are going to finance sacha's next surfing voyage for a year or longer.. haha

I'm with Ryun, I'd be going blue if I could figure a way to afford it. They do say other groups and wheels are options....

The silver Shimano stuff is abominable. The rest is very cool.

Couldn't help myself. Raced it two weeks ago...I wasn't exactly smiling because I'm in pitiful shape, but I'm never parting with this one.

I often see this justification used but do not really understand it.

Both items being insanely priced does not justify either one being insanely priced.

Both items are "made in house"

In this case adding some quality polishing/etching on parts while not cheap is not expensive either

But yes nice Bicycle

funny, I think the silver shimano is the cool stuff, the frame is just another frame we have seen 1 million times. The blue one is definitely the best, works best with the stripes and logo. I really think it woulda been cool to update the look, new logos and fonts and stuff because it has not aged well imo. They shoulda done something like Richard Sachs did which updated logos and looks great.

I agree - it's just another Vanilla (which are great, don't get me wrong) with slightly updated paint. Don't get the hype. Love the polished DA and hope Shimano takes notice..

At least part of it..

And it's not like he's making these and sending them off to their ultimate demise in a canal.

Maybe he should with one of them.

They're all fillet brazed which is different, aren't they usually TIG'ed, at least partially? "Better" is up to you.

All of the moaning here about price every time a new cycling product is introduced is incredibly tiresome.

The polished DA stuff is gaudy.

I think the bikes are nice.
