SOLD Serotta Cyclocross 853 Frame, Fork

Catch and release here: Frame, fork, headset only. Local impulse buy that duplicates my Primus Mootry in almost every way. Straight and sound, no dings. SS setup is how it came from the original owner who had it in various configurations though the years, originally built with Campy 10s. Paint chips and rattle can touch up on the DT where the shifter bosses were rebrazed after loosening.

Reynolds 853 tubing, Serotta steel fork. Rear Drop outs and fork ends have fender eyelets. Geometry chart shown in last image: 52M.

Serial # 52M02
52cm CTC seat tube.
55cm CTC top tube.
112mm head tube. Steerer has room for the cable stop shown, so effective HT is about 122mm.

Image of rear tire and chain stays shows clearance with 33c cross tires.

Frame, fork, and Shimano 600 headset only. You also get the 2001 Serotta catalog!

SOLD

Cheers

Cool frame set Quick question as far as fit. What size road bike do you normally ride?

Usually a 55 in traditional road frame geometry. 55cm TT is ideal for me @ 5' 9 1/2" and more torso than leg length. Note that the Serotta has an extended (stock) head tube. This fits me to a tee, but if I built it up, it would surely sport a longer stem.

You mentioned those tires are 33c. What would you say is the max actual width that would clear front and back?

Fork has a bit more room, but I’d guess 35 smooth tread tires are the biggest than would fit front and rear. Wide rims might limit further. I don’t have any 35’s to try..

Have you thought of posting this on the Rivendell owners group? I bet those Bobish guys would snap it up.
