Custom flags on Berk's bridge at no extra charge for Paceline members.
Every day, all year long....

Made to order of course. Turnaround time of 2-3 weeks.

While the unpadded 3K carbon may not be one's preference as shown on one of my frames, padded saddles are an alternative.

Demo program

Fellow Paceline friends:

It is with a heavy heart that I have decided to eliminate the demo program I had in place for Berk saddles.

The conditions in which they were being sent back, coupled with some folks not even sending them back, along with increasing shipping rates just made no sense to continue it. No-one here I may add. Everyone on the Paceline I've had the pleasure in dealing with has been first rate.

Like most can agree, I'm happy that I took the chance to try something new, and perhaps help, then to not have tried at all.

For those have have had the opportunity to take advantage of the demo program, many thanks!

Dish on the Berk bar/stem!

Eric,

Since you bumped up the Elite thread, how about sharing a few words on the bar/stem in the link below. Tommy didn't show the whole thing.

Sure thing Dan.

Jure doesn't have them in production since they take a bit of time, however, he will make them upon special request with the proper dimensions. Basically a stem length and bar dimension is all he needs. From there, he does his thing in his own molds.

One thing I can tell you is they are not cheap, being a WW product. I can get current pricing if there is interest. He actually has a few almost done.

One may ask about the integrity being all carbon, etc......

I can tell you from personal experience since I have something similar from Kevin Fickling at Cryptic. He took my MCFK stem and ENVE bar, deleted the hardware, and wrapped it into what looks like a monocoque. It is the stiffest combo I have ever ridden. This combo is comfortable and offers zero flex. I have no doubt that it will take all I can give it. Absolute 100% confidence.

Now the bad side.....
When you wrap the bar to the stem, there may be a problem mounting a computer. There are options for that now. When I was using Stages it wasn't a problem, but since changing to Garmin, I had to use a stem mount. Not my preference, but I can certainly live with it.

Aforementioned, given today's euro conversion, $544.28.

None for sale, but I can special order them. 2 month wait at the moment.

The chaos for Jure is 500km away from him. Each third car from him on his way to the office is from the Ukraine.

Pray for all of them. I am not one to bring politics or religion into social media or on a platform like this, but damn.....if you pray, please do so.

New saddles

I've had many emails regarding Berk's recent Instagram post.

The release date is Friday, August 19th. That said, I'm not allowed to post anything.

I'll be sure to clear things up tomorrow.

Lipa and Ploh

Lipa:

130mm width, 250mm length

A completely new seat design with a shorter nose and more legroom.

The T-shaped seat is primarily designed for riders with narrower pelvic areas who are looking for stability in all positions, as it relieves the soft tissue, even in an aggressive posture.

The shorter design makes it suitable for gravel and mountain cross bikes.

A new feature of the seat is a "flat-flat" design, which fits perfectly to the shape of the pelvis and distributes pressure evenly between the buttocks and pubic bones. Saddle has rounded edges to prevent bruising the inner thighs.

Ploh:

138mm width, 250mm length

V-shaped, so the pressure on the seat is efficienty transferred between the buttocks and pubic bones. Primarily designed for those with a wider pelvic area.

Same "flat-flat" and rounded edges.

One may ask.....what is "flat-flat"?

The saddle is flat in two planes-front and side view.
Most pelvic pain happens when the seat presses on the ischial/pubic bones from the inside out. The flat-flat concept eliminates this, as the bones touch the saddle in two directions only.

Both in padded and unpadded versions. Stock will arrive soon.

Smile Berk Lipa

You all know me at this point. Straight shooter, no BS.

Took the new Lipa out this past weekend for a short ride initially, as any new product suggests. Took a longer ride on Sunday to give it a real review.

In any event, the new "short" Lipa is definitely shorter and "flat." More like the Dila.

Zero flex, unlike the Lupina. The shorter saddle is one that may intrigue folks, if they have a zero setback post, as the rails are obviously shorter.

Since I've been riding a Lupina for over 4 years, and past sponsored by Selle Italia, I'm leaning towards the Lupina, as it's moreless the same.

The Lipa was comfortable of course, and Jure has upped his game with material and fiber. The "flat" design was phenomenal while climbing, as it engaged my thighs and hamstrings to the point I felt it the next couple of days. Old age comes into play here as well.

All that said, if you enjoy a flat seat, the new Lipa and Ploh may be intriguing.

Jure has plans to introduce the Lupina in a short version as well after the first of the year.
