Thanks everyone who replied - I appreciate the knowledge shared.

I've run X2s previously and like the low steerer stack. Never had a slippage or cracking issue even when on my CX (raced it for six years) BUT wanted to move back to four bolt plats.

Too bad the Fizik Cyrano is 20d as I like my R1 7d.

I really appreciate the QBP extract.

Was leaning towards Zipp but that Kalloy for $35 from Fairwheel is hard to beat both price and grams. I just bought it with the ti bolt kit (you get the six stainless bolts too) since it looks great - $60 whats not to like?

I have one of these (minus ti bolts). As others have said, great faceplate tighten-the-top. And they look awesome. I think $35!
