Totally cosmetic.

The same part has been used over the years on a number of Campy models. You will occasionally see orphaned front hubs on eBay for not much money, particularly the (nearly useless) 22 hole versions. The cones, cups, etc that come in the bundle are also useful spares.

The decreased aerodynamic flow will cause you to lose a few miliseconds when you sprint against Peter Sagan in the future I would say.

i always suspected too much cleaning, greasing and lubing was bad for the equipment.
