Again, I'm so thankful that it wasn't more serious than it was. This could have been a life altering event, but I came away with no lasting issues other than some scars.
I think you underestimate the nature of a brain injury and especially the potential impact to your life of a second hit, for which you need to do everything imaginable to avoid. Trust me. Or talk to some traumatic brain injury specialists. Sorry for the tough love, someone had to say it. This is very serious and I sincerely hope you have no lasting issues but it is very early in your recovery.

I had thought I had typed this but must not have hit send. My wife worked for over 30 years in the field of brain injury and she would agree anytime you are out cold from a head hit you have suffered traumatic brain injury and most likely will have some negative effects that may last a long time. We all think we are not that person but best get checked out by someone other than your GP. as ripvan said TBI specialist.

Hang in there Keith! Thanks for all you do around here, and hope you have a speedy drama free recovery. I guess a benefit to having no memory of the crash is you’ll be free from waking nightmares.

Best wishes to you, Keith, and please get topnotch medical advice and follow it.

Remember the immortal words of Woody Allen:
“My brain? That's my second favorite organ.”

Heal up!

Ah man

So sorry to hear this Keith! Rest up and get better and glad to hear that you are on the mend as it sounds like it could have been much worse. Wishing you the best and a quick healing process!

Heal the rib and the brain. Facial scars will make you look more rugged and handsome. Looking forward to the story of your first ride back. Be well and get better.

Thanks for the ongoing well wishes, and good advice. I will be seeing my primary care doc in the morning and will discuss the concerns of a TBI.

sorry to hear about the crash. I had a similar one a few years back, remember only waking up in the ambulance. Be mindful of your brain the next few weeks. Take care and rest up!
