Keith that hurts just looking at the photo. Be very careful with that head trauma.

Dang Keith, sorry to hear this! Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Take care of that brain! TBIs are no joke.

Something similar happened to me when I was a youth, but thankfully only resulted in a broken wrist and lots of bruises.

It's too late for this one, but the Spot insurance through USA Cycling pairs great with a high deductible health insurance plan.

Yikes. Glad you’re ok (relatively speaking). Hope this means some good minister-prepped dinners coming your way!

Wish you speedy recovery.

Get well soon. Listen to the Docs. While I doubt if your wife will let you ride for a while (if she's like mine), don't take any chances with more head injuries. Pack riding is fun, but stuff happens sometimes. Anyway...happy for you it's not worse.

Sad to see. Praying and wishing for a quick recovery. I know you're an athlete and it's gonna be hard to go without riding, but listen to everyone here, along with the docs and rest up. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help. You give so much to the PL, we can give back as well.

Thanks for all of the kind words. I have been trying to take it easy, but that's not something I do well. I was trying to do something as simple as pushing in a sprinkler into the ground, and that caused so much pain in my rib it was shocking. Looks like the rib issue will take a while for it to heal. The weird thing is that there isn't any visible damage to the area, and it's not overly sore to the touch -- but if I move the wrong way, cough, or sneeze...wowzer!

Hope for a fast recovery. Am glad you broke nothing though but concussions are very tough. Everyone already said it but rest up, I really would try to stay away from computer or phone screens and do stuff like reading and stuff, anything that strains the brain.

As a roomate from decades ago would say, "This is so uncool!"

Glad to hear that all of your parts are intact. Let them heal, especially your brain.

I cracked a rib once. No visible damage, but definite pain. It's amazing how much they can hurt, even when they're only slightly cracked or bruised. There isn't much to do for them except rest, which sounds like what they're prescribing for your brain as well. Now you have two reasons to be good.
