My basic 1UP has been serving me quite well for 5+ years. I can't see a reason to upgrade or replace it. The downside of building products that last is that you don't get as many repeat customers I guess.

Seems like it is basically the benefits of the Equip-D (fat bike compatible out of the box) combined with improvements for carrying very heavy eBikes.

Makes sense since so many eBikes are running fat bike-ish tires.

It doesn't really matter if us existing customers need anything new, the new product is just even better for new customers.

Must be really fun to load an 75lb+ eBike onto one of these. If my bike gets into "Team Lift" territory I think I should get a motorcycle again.

For now my Equip-D for 3 bikes actually weighs ~75lbs and it is not team lift yet.

I’m really happy with my equip d and regularly convert it from 1 to 3 bikes and use it multiple times weekly.

The improvements are nice on this, and if I get a sturdier vehicle for dirt roads this would be the first choice.

The levers for releasing the wheels on the equip d could be better, and it looks like they solved that with the glide bar.

My Equip-D is a 2+1, I have never taken the +1 off, interesting idea as it basically gets used with 2-bikes (me + son) 99% of the time. Maybe once a year my wife brings her bike on vacation.

I have the wall mount for the whole rack, but if I take the +1 off I basically have nowhere to store it.

It’s very easy. A few bolts on either side and a reconfiguration of the handle using a few quick release pins.

Running it in 1x is ideal for my car. It rides very close to the bumper when folded and doesn’t interfere with the sensors or camera while >1 does.
