1594 fully vaccinated cyclists with masks ready for the ride...
Weather looks a hell of a lot better than it was two weeks ago. |

I will be there on a loudly orange Niner RLT but will probably start a little later. My wife and son are doing the 40mile and I hope to meet them at lunch. It would be fun to talk to a PL person in real life.

The first rest stop isn't far, but it takes awhile. I just looked at my '19 ride and it took me 1:30 to get there. Yup, I'm old. Enjoy, it's a fantastic ride. |

I'll join around 8 as well. Not sure if I'll be on my Warbird or Lynskey, but it will most likely be the Warbird. I'll have on a D2R2 jersey and a white Kask.

100k
I'm doing the 100k as well but not sure of our start time. Riding with at least one of our crue, others are doing the Mystery or the 160k.
I'll be riding a Seven Tsunami, white Kask helmet I think. If we don't connect on the ride, we're camping out Saturday night...just look for the disco lights and Karl's Sausage Kitchen colorways. |

thanks Weisan. A picture is worth a 1000 words, so much more the video. Super cool documentation of the course and friends having a great time. Looked like beautiful weather then. This gave me a good idea of what to expect. + Patton hill looks brutal! So glad it will be dry.

Update from yesterday:
This year's 100K route has become the most popular of all the routes, and thus we have some concerns about overcrowding on the roads and at lunch/rest stops. To accommodate that, we are extending the start times over a two-hour block. If you are a faster rider - please plan to start anytime between 9:30-10:30 am. For more leisurely riders - please start between 8:30-9:30 am. |

It’s supposed to hit 90F that day.
I remember almost plotzing in the hot sun one year going up that big hill you have to do to get your peach in the afternoon. Earlier still sounds better. |

I'll shoot for 8:00 as well. It's always one of my favorite days of the year, and after what we've all been through, I'm really looking forward to it!
I agree that if you come to a crossroad and don't know which way to turn, take the route that goes uphill. If that route is also dirt, well that's just confirmation you're on the correct path This is "The Way of Sandy." This from Dusty this morning: Conditions are tricky, so compensate with equipment (wider and tougher tires) and technique. Reduce your speed more than usual around corners, on descents, and wherever you see loose conditions. Ride the center grass instead of the tire-track sand. Don’t follow other riders as closely, so you have more time to pick a better line if they sink in. I've been vacillating between the 700c wheels or the 650b. That little note makes my decision much easier. 650b x 47 it is! On a side note, does anyone need a ride from Boston that morning? I'm leaving from the northern suburbs bright and early and have room in the car for one or two others if needed. |

just read over the cue sheet - so many turns I felt seasick lol.
I'm getting lost for sure. to those who have done this is sending the fit. file to my head unit and using turn by turn navigation the way to go? |
