Currently on an airplane on the way to Dallas. It's crazy how you can be on the internet while you are flying. Sky is clear which is a good thing since I hate flying. Should be a nice weekend.

this is the plastic barrel version with the knurled metal grip area. it's currently my favorite and is getting the most "paper time". unless i need to sign something, i'm pretty much 100% pencil these days.

I've got the fountain pen at home and the roller ball version of that pencil for everyday at the office.

The plastic-y bits are a bit unfortunate given their history, but still great writing instruments for the money.

i went a little bonkers last month buying pencils, so i actually have the all metal version of this pencil too, and think i might prefer the half plastic iteration for daily use. the weight just feels dead on.

I went to the New York State DMV to transfer the plate to my new motorbike.

As an aside, I absolutely adore the Greenwich street DMV. They are friendly, helpful, and efficient. I was in at 8:30, out at 8:50, and they suggested I renew my license at the same time, since it expires in 5 months. And then they got me my temporary license in 5 minutes. Tomorrow, I'm riding my motorcycle and going to the Philly Bike Expo.

I had a great ride in this morning. The weather here is amazing. Indian Summer is what I grew up calling it. The thing is when I got to work I forgot my coffee that I bought the night before and I also forgot my belt. The jeans I brought with me are too big to wear without a belt. Fortunately I had a stash of spare cloths and a pair of slacks with an internal elastic type belt. So I went to my local bakery and got a nice strong cuppa and a croissant.

Life is back to normal.

All the leaves are down on my morning commute trail.

I'll try to have a more positive day today than yesterday. Went out for a morning MTB ride in the Albuquerque foothills in what I thought was temp. appropriate clothes. Nearly froze (feet & hands totally numb half way out my loop) and then got caught in the snow. Had a cleat loosen and fell down in a rock garden for no reason but I couldn't get my foot out (giant bruise on my leg). Never really managed to warm up all day. Then destroyed my phone's screen. Off to T-Mobile now.

Here's to today being a better day.

I've missed the entire work week with pneumonia.

I will say though, today I woke up and feel pretty good for the first time since last Saturday.

My family and our doctor have taken really great care of me.

That's my bright ray of sunshine.
