Definitely. And finding dopers in Miami isn't exactly a challenge.

Is the event in question a grand fondue? In Miami? In July? Board flat?

I think these events have officially jumped the shark

It's a road race. Yes, everything in Miami is board flat, but the nearly never ending onslaught of wind can make for races that are as challenging as anything with hills. It's actually pretty funny to watch fast people who live in the mountains suffer like dogs with having to pedal nonstop for hours. And July's a good time to ride in Miami.

This, a trillion times this. And glory without the work is so satisfying to some. I just don't and don't ever get it. The bar of being of loser is in the damn stratosphere these days.

Is there more frequent testing these days? I've done a bunch of races from Cat 4 to Cat 2 and into Masters and was tested once and that was after winning a state championship race. Never saw testing for regional or even big payout criteriums. There were dopers in the pack like David LeDuc and others but they weren't caught until recently. Weekend warriors had no reason not to dope because the chances were extremely slim that there'd be a test. I was in the military and in a drug testing program so I had a reason. I knew of several Cat 2's that were doping to get a pro contract, a few did.

Testing at every event that subscribes to the Ride Clean Program

Surprised?

I am not sure why anyone would be surprised.

We live in a drug culture- You have a problem, doc gives you an RX. Cholesterol, blood pressure, diabetes, low thyroid, low T, low attention span, chronic pain- you name it.

Go to a cocktail party- I guarantee that someone you talk to is on a drug that you could test positive for in competition.
And they are likely not even bike racing.
