Fitting fenders to a mtn bike

I bought some Velo Orange fenders hoping I could get them to work on my old mtn bike. I think I spent 2 hours last night, maybe more, before I gave up. For the rear fender, I was able to get the wire fender stays mounted to the dropout area, but I need to find away to secure the other end of the fender to the bottom bracket area. I don't have a chainstay bridge. Does anyone know of any adaptor or DIY hack that'll allow for securing that end of the fender?

i'll try and dig up a photo, but what i have done in the past on a winter fixed gear bike is this: cut a skinny piece of aluminum bar stock and riveted the fender end to the section of bar stock, then zip tied the bar stock flat against the seat tube way down by the BB.

it looks like a hack because it is a hack, but it's pretty far down and hard to see unless you're looking for it.

Here are two examples of a Poprad without a bridge...zip tie on the orange one and a flex pipe clamp bolted to a reflector clamp, fastened to the fender. I fess up that the dirty blue bike is mine.
