Quarq - GXP question

I feel pretty dumb here...

Bought a newer Quarq DZero with a groupset with the intentions of replacing my older Quarq S975. Was under the impression that it's GXP but the NDS does not fit in the NDS side of the BB and the spindle doesn't quite match up with the old one. There's no markings on the Dzero and I am stumped/dumb when it comes to this. Any ideas what's up?

Old crank on left, new crank on right...

Looks like the dust shield from the GXP bb is still on the one on the right

One on the right looks like 30mm axle. Have you measured?

Unlikely, if it was 30mm axle it would be connected to NDS arm

Dub axle? Requires Dub bb. Dub is 29 mm.

Right crank arm looks like it has a 24mm -> 22mm reducer sleeve stuck on the end of the axle. See if that silver part will come off.

Bingo^ Looks like it to me. I was asking about seeing the BB to see if there was already a reducer sleeve installed or if was a true 22mm bearing.

That's gotta be it as I don't believe SRAM/Quarq made 24mm arms for Shimano only GXP, GG30, and dub iterations.

The 'new' (used) crank did not come with a bb...I was trying to fit in in my standard gxp bb that the old crank was in. I will try and see if the sleeve comes off. I had also never heard of this 'dub' standard before..

"Most" dub spindles have dub anodized on them somewhere. Dub is Sram's way of even further screwing up bb standards, 29 mm. https://wheelsmfg.com/blog/what-is-sram-dub.html

Not the end of the world if it is, you can get a dub bb cheap.

That doesn't sound right. 24mm -> 22mm GXP adapters have a lip on them, so that the spindle will "clamp" onto the left side bearing. Here's what 24mm -> 22mm adapters look like:

Agreed, does not look like a lip. Looks like an actual 24mm spindle🤷*♂️

And just to add to the confusion - looking the SRAM web site, it appears that the current cranks with 8-bolt Quark power meter spiders are carbon, but the "new" crank in the photo above appears to be aluminum. Are you sure this Quark power meter spider is attached to an SRAM crank?

That looks like an alloy arm to me, not carbon.

My guess is this model
https://www.slanecycles.com/quarq-dz...t-p-28571.html

I also thought maybe it was a 24mm spindle throughout, but don't believe the spindles are removable, but I've also never looked into it. Also, Shimano spindles usually have more splines on the end, and the OP's look like the GXP splines.

I’d guess that silver ring (where the GXP bearing step is supposed to be) could be part of a kit like this.
