There's water in Riverside? Must be climate change at work. Going to have to dig through the Audubon guide if you don't tell us what we're looking at.

Guessing those must be American White Pelicans. Seems the only other all white Pelicans range from the Mediterranean to SE Asia. I'd have guessed there were a lot more species.

There’s the Santa Ana river which is usually dry-ish, and there’s a pond/lake near downtown. It’s actually been raining a lot lately. Anyhow yeah they’re Pelicans I believe they’re migrating.

One of my favorite past-times. Every time we travel it is an opportunity to appreciate different bird-life, but there are back-yard birds for us that are interesting to watch, Orioles, Flickers, Thurshes, Woodpeckers, Tanagers, and lots of others ....

Well heck, I guess I should look into that. I can see them here, but maybe that's not the point.

The top is is a Northern Oriole, they show up from Central America sometime in March and leave by August. A Western Tanager is the next followed by an Acorn Woodpecker and then a female Hooded Oriole feeding one of its young. That one might also be a Northern Oriole female, but just not sure. The beaks of the hooded are longer than the Northern. The females of both the hooded and northern are less brightly colored and from the angle of the image I think it is a hooded female.

I think I used a Nikon 500mm F4 AIS to take those images with a D70 body.

I didn't have this issue posting elsewhere, but I gather it's my fault. How do I give the group permission? Or the board?

not sure. been a while since I used google photos, and I think the reason I switched was due to their rather weird permission setting. Picasa was quite a bit easier to manage (three sharing settings), but after Google merged that service with Google Photo, I could no longer properly post photos, even when I thought I had the correct permissions.

The best way to see whether the public can actually view your links is to open the link in a private window, as you will be signed out.
