Farmer's Daughter 2023

Sunday May 21.
Anyone up for it this year?
It looks like they got rid of the muddy mountain biking trails at the beginning which will be a big improvement, especially with how wet this year is so far.

I actually enjoyed those sections last year (though a bit of a traffic jam). I would be doing it again, but getting ready to move around then.

That's good. Those trails so close to the start of a mass start event were really not gravel bike friendly IMO.

This one is not in the cards for me this year but I look forward to the revised route in the future.

Two of the years I’ve done it in the past have been very wet.
That first section featured deep chocolate pudding consistency mud.
One year I even did the whole event on a mountain bike.
Most people are off their bikes walking and grumbling in those conditions.
I think dropping that section is a net positive for them.

I am photographing . . .

. . . the event for Andy and will likely be on the bike of a moto. Those single track sections are indeed a pain if it's wet. But they make great photos!

HERE are pics from last year's FDGG, and at this point I am also shooting Toad Strangler, Great North, and Tour of the Battenkill.
