Berkshires

Rode today in The Berkshires during a trip east for family stuff. Was hoping to ride on the main part of the trip but this side trip was unexpected. Brought my stuff anyway and rented a bike. "wait that's the bike you rent?", "yessir" - The pink Aethos you see below. First time with Electric SRAM shifting ( rear good, front - meh). Roval wheels - bueno and only the second carbon frame I've ridden. It was fantastic! Rental was steep but worth it, and they threw in the water bottle. It was a beautiful summer day in NW CT, NY and MA.

Overlooking cades cove in the smokies about halfway down the gravel descent of rich Mtn rd. Pretty stunning beauty in this area and closed to traffic Wednesdays

Got in 40 hot ones today . . .

. . . but managed to finish before we hit our forecast high of 96, which is pretty extreme for our part of the country in upstate New York. Not many people out, as you might expect when temps are this high. The wildflowers were nice–it's still day lily season–and I took a pretty leisurely pace on the Queen Bee and enjoyed the scenery as much as possible given the sweat dripping into my eyes. It was good to get back into town and under some trees!

Looks like I need to find another way down.

Nope, not this way.

With this heat wave I am done riding by 1000, and it's all in the shade.

Nothing special today. Overhead clouds moved in just as I made one stop to grab some pics.

Today's steed was the old Duell Vienna, man did it feel good on the road today.

I finally sorted out the poorly setup bars and shifters yesterday and then gave it a new tape job.

At last, a sunny day, on my usual fun ride in the Marin Headlands yesterday.

Hot on today

94 degrees on a mid afternoon ride today. Got in 26 easy flat miles to try out the new shoes on the AR. Trying out some Vittoria Corsa Control G2.0 in 30 tan walls.

Had a stop at mile 23 for some treats at a little Sicilian join in the city.

The home made treats are the best in the area

The dinner house made pasta is to die for here.
