Argon 18 replace SP clamp

My friend has the bike and he has done everything to keep it from slipping. It has been fine for the 4 years he owned the bike (make that 7 years. Wow.) . It is an unusual shaped clamp and we don't know if the shape serves a purpose of just fancy design.

I think any decent clamp will work. Anyone know for sure?

That looks like a pretty old bike, but my Argon Gallium Pro (2015) has a regular old seat post collar for what its worth.

Double clamp will solve the slippage problem. If the post is a 27.2 and the frame is a 31.8, here you go:

Check the length of the slit in the seat tube and make sure that a double bolt clamp will actually make a difference.
I was considering this too but upon inspection realized that the slit was only as short as a single bolt clamp.

That clamp I linked to: the bottom half wraps around the frame. The top half wraps around the seatpost, not the frame.

I will ask my friend what year the frame is. I helped him buy it on PL in July 2016. I just found the PM and it is a 2010 frame.

A seat collar is easy enough to buy and not too many $$.

Interesting design.
Never seen that before. Did it work well for you?

I found a KCNC version but it had complains about poor quality bolts.

Hard to tell from the picture, but is the clamp close to bottomed out on itself? If its a round post/tube it shouldn't be too hard to get a new clamp. You could also try turning it around so the bolt is in front. The thinner ones and those with cutouts can stretch over time if over-tightened.
As was previously mentioned, carbon paste is your friend here.

I bought a similar no-named one over a decade ago, solved the issue. Bike had a high gloss carbon post and the frame had an aluminum insert. (I have a feeling that carbon paste also would have been a solution, and I'm guessing I just wasn't aware of that stuff at the time.)
