This must be what they mean, without a doubt.

I am SUPER excited at the idea of the wireless group. The levers are much smaller / narrower which get them closer to my beloved Campagnolo 10 speed levers.
I loved the function of the Record 12s group that I briefly had, but hated the lever shape.

Sweet on full wireless. I'm bummed, and likely staying away with them ditching the thumb lever. They had it with EPS. Why not with wireless?
I'm hoping they are trolling the world with the Shimanoesque paddles.

My first thought was that it would be easy to put a button (not a lever) in the location of the thumb lever in addition to the two buttons on the shift lever, that way you have easier shifting whether on the hoods or in the drops. The only reason not to that I can think of is the likelihood of unintended shifts with your thumb when on the hoods.

Campag is poised at this moment to drop a bombshell on all of us for April 1 tomorrow.

Thumb button is largely seen as obsolete. I'm with you personally, but I understand if Campy's market research came to the conclusion that the thumb button needed to go for the brand to lose the (incorrect IMO) image of being irrelevant and outdated.

That was hilarious. I'm still laughing about that. |

The thumb button is not the bike.

NOT an engineer but I'm guessing with a battery, plus switches plus hydro stuff...the lever is more 'svelte' with shifter switches rather than a thumb button. Altho with EPS, the tactile 'click' of the two shift levers was a good thing rather than the vague-ness of dI2 switches.

I really hope they keep mechanical and rim brakes. Not that I’m a curmudgeon but that’s what my bikes take.

I think a 'sea change' at Campagnolo would be if EKAR goes the wireless route, Don't see that happening tho. There are still demand for mechanical shifting with rim brakes. small but there. There have been rim brake road frames built for a long time. BUT, larger demand for mechanical shifting/disc brakes..as the other 2 makers move away from mechanical shifting..not everybody is in awe of electronic.
