So, filming commercials in and around my area is an everyday occurrence. What isn't is when they film a commercial of the Tesla Model 3. Yeah, I saw one in the wild driving on my street while a film crew was shooting it doing driving shots.
It's very nice. Not sure I'm ready to own an EV just yet, but it looked really nice in the wild.

I'd see obscure as the Venn diagram of rare and rarely thought of/little known. Even passing car dorks know about Ferrari Enzos and Porsche Carrera GTs. Rare? Sure. Obscure? Eh, not so much.
I'd say more something like this I saw around the corner from my place a couple weeks ago: Datsun 2000 Fairlady convertible. They don't grow on trees, and who the heck even thinks about the Fairlady convertible anymore? |

Ginetta G4
My high school chem teacher raced a Ginetta G4 in SCCA events and autocross in the 60s and also drove it to school on nice days. Under 1,000 pounds and a souped up Ford twin cam four IIRC. I think four were imported into the US.

Volvo dealership nearby had up to three of those on the parking lot. Never saw another one on the road, tho. Gotta give it to them they look stunning in reality.

While cycling the Passo di Giau my wife and I came across a car rally headed the other way and had to stop and watch. The subsequent late afternoon descent was cooooold.

I took the avatar to see some cousins a few years ago and a gentleman from Montreal had brought this beauty... a Citroen Traction Avant convertible. I haven't seen a car with this much style or grace very often. Looks amazing with the top down.

I saw one of these driving around the Beltway in the Washington DC area around 1990 or 1991. It's the sport utility vehicle from renowned tractor manufacturer Lamborghini.
Jay Leno does a nice review of these on his Jay Leno's Garage program, which is worth watching for anyone interested in interesting cars. Watching it you realize he's way more into cars than he is into TV, which seems like it was just something to pay for his outrageous car habit. |

Danny Wegman's one-of-a-kind Ferrari. Keep your eyes pealed if you're riding on the west side of Canandaigua Lake!

I was riding my bike in Aspen, saw a bright red car at a stoplight up ahead and figured it was the new Ferrari 458 (at the time). Turned out to be an ENZO. Yikes.
I've seen a BMW Z1 on the road before. Very rare. I had the pleasure of following this 918 for 45 minutes one day, but that's a bit cheating, as we were both on the same rallye through the mountains for 3 days.
