Shimano 9-speed skipping mid cassette

Hi OP,

You had me getting concerned. I just checked it was 9-speed. I was at a loss as to what type/model of derailleur the shop installed and still am.

I made a list of recommended checks and it turned out that Scott's suggestion solved the concern. I turned up the cable tension on the derailleur and the skipping stopped and all nine speed are back in service!

I do appreciate all the thoughts and suggestions. Thank you all.

I have an 11-speed Shimano group set on order that will go on the Hilsen but wanted to fix the problem as I will donate the 9-speed system to the local bike co-op as everything is in very good condition. Including the rear derailleur!

My bikes run on 9,10,11 speeds. I still prefer 9.
