Why Can't I Repost Images?
In replying to a thread, I try to apparently post an image which I've posted in another, earlier thread. I get an error message telling me the image was already used.
What's the solution? Thanks!

I suspect the reason is just not to use up a lot of storage with multiple instances of the same file, but there is a workaround:
If you go to the original thread, and then open the image in a new tab, then copy the url for that image... Then use the 'insert image" button above your new message box--looks like a upside down envelope. Save, close and it should show the original image in the new thread. So it I want to show off my CSi-- i go to the thread where that was posted: https://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=222601 Then I right click on an image and say 'show in new tab': Address given is: https://forums.thepaceline.net/attac...1&d=1527086992 Paste that into the link button and I should get an image of the original picture to show in the new thread like this: [IMG] Last edited by paredown; 08-02-2020 at 11:47 AM. |

What pare said.
Because if we do, it will start to look like the File Xplorer folders in our computers...with pictures taken since Theodore Roosevelt was President.

Thanks for the advice.
I thought I tried paredown's method and it didn't work; I'll try again at the next opportunity.

Similar to paredown:
1. Go to the original thread and find the image. 2. Right-click on the image (or hold down CONTROL and click, if on Mac) 3. Select "copy image address" 4. Reply to the new thread or start a new thread 5. Click on the insert image icon (yellow square with mountains and sun) 6. Paste the image address into the pop-up URL box (Which is to say, you don't need to open up a new tab if you don't want to.) |

Don't do this - it's a waste of storage space.
As others have mentioned above, just repost the image by linking to it. Works fine. |
