Merckx Help (what stem?)

Vintage enthusiasts, a little help please:

what stem would probably have come festooned on this bike in it's Team Weinmann livery; or - what would look best here? I'm going to need something 90mm with some down angle? For 26.0 bars please.

thoughts?

Don't think you can ever go wrong with a Cinelli Grammo.

3T Record 84 - similar looks to the Cinelli XA above but will be easier to find in 26.0. The Cinelli comes in a 26.0 but there are just as many, if not more, 26.4 out there.

Very nice frame BTW.

I had two of those 3t and both had threads stripped at the tightening bolt.

Angry... chose the handlebars first and then brand match the stem. It seems those brands have micro differences on bar width which could make installing a stem from another brand a bad idea.
If you get a cinelli bar, get a cinelli stem and so on.

Looking at that RD - didn't Sachs Huret have an Aris line?

The seatpost looks to be a couple inches too low.

Other wise very nice pics and would be a great retro/ alternative build.

Yeah, look at those nice shiny cranks and derailleurs. Cinelli bars and stem, Selle Italia Turbo Special saddle, chrome fork, chrome stays...

That's a classic right there.

On that size frame those proportions look right.

The pump peg is on the wrong tube?

There's something about a panto stem. Like icing on the cake.
