while both are absolute top-class rider, i think MVdP has the edge over WvA in terms of achievement and versatility -- just look at their palmares:

The industry has to keep making money, and I see the riding in the wet aspect, so disc brakes surely have a place in the Pro Peloton. Super good race to watch though. WVA just dropped a small group and basically TT to the finish. Dude is seriously strong. |

I think the issue isn't whether you have a through axle or quick release, rather the logistics of getting a new wheel and what the race looks like as you try to get back on: more hills, few riders to share pace, no compact caravan to surf.

I belive that WvA has won a stage at the TDF, if I am correct.
Plus a stage or 2 at the Dauphane Quote:

back to palmares, top-level numbers @ procyclingstats: MvdP -- 22 Wins -> GC (3) / One day races (8) / ITT (0) WvA -- 12 Wins -> GC (1) / One day races (5) / ITT (3) most points in a season: MvdP -- 1362 WvA -- 860 thats with MvdP never being on a first-division team and never riding in a grand tour yet! at this point in their young careers MvdP has the edge in results...but the differences are quite small...and like i said...both are seriously top-class guys...i like them both!!!. Who ever thought that we would see Brent Bookwalter come in a classic sandwiched between Stybar and Van Avermant.
