Crazy warm day here in Upstate NY . . .

Today I headed over to Cambridge in Washington County to guest ride with the Cambridge Valley Cycling Club and their president, Gary. This is the ancestral home of the Tour of the Battenkill, so many of the roads were familiar from my riding and photography coverage of that race for 11 years. We got in almost 28 miles of friendly, casual riding out of town and then up scenic Camden Valley to the Vermont border, where we turned around as the road turned to fresh, un-compacted dirt. Temps were in the near-unbelievable 70 degree range and it was a weird feeling to be riding among the bare trees in shorts and short sleeves. We also found some leftover Halloween decorations–at least I hope they were for Halloween! Also some pre-election day costume shenanigans at the main intersection in town. After the ride I headed down Route 22 to Brown's Brewing in North Hoosick to enjoy some relaxation, lunch, and a freshly brewed pint. A great day!

Seen in a foreign land strange looking animals that I am not familiar with and weird street sign that I am not sure what to do with...

Saturday was Rapha Prestige Santa Cruz. The usual combination of enjoyment, exasperation, and sense of achievement. Weather was challenging at times and I really could have done without the one really muddy section that ruined what would have otherwise been a fun long dirt descent (one of the photos is of one of my teammates who had to go full cyclocross after accumulating so much mud in his mid-reach brakes that the bike wouldn't go). Santa Cruz is such a fantastic place to ride and it was great to discover a few places I didn't know before.

Since mid-term elections are dominating headlines, I went out to the local constituents to see which way they were voting....

Much to my surprise, I was visited by some stock market strategists that came running across the field to talk with me...

All in all, a great day to catch the last of the fall foliage

We had beautiful spring-like weather here at the NJ shore.
I grabbed the Atala off the hook and headed east.. such a great day on the bike.

Photos from your rides.

Mini photo dump.

Little fella demands to ride no matter the weather. I'm down. I want him to grow up outside and in the elements.

Oregon has some beauty this time of year!

Saw this dude and his dog at the LBS. Doggo was SUPER cute. My dog would 100% leap out of the basket if I tried this with her.

Shake down ride: complete. Man, no matter how I feel about metal bikes (I feel extremely good about them), these new fangled carbon bikes sure are a hoot.

Nice work. I was out getting soaked in the Marin Headlands on Saturday and freezing. I was happy to call it at 30mi and go home for a hot shower. Do you mind sharing what the route was?

Lavi, great looking little fella - our son is a 39 year old foreman electrician working on Amazon data centers. I now own your last blue Kirk (pictured), and it's not going anywhere soon since it's a super comfortable and smooth ride. If we tried to put goggles on our little beagle, it would be a mess for sure!

So happy to see the bike getting use and that you are enjoying it! It's such a great bike for sure. Were it not for the orange Kirk I now have, that one would still being getting OR miles.

Still having some great warm weather, so I spent the day swapping forks on my mountain bikes and I got out for a shakedown of the Ultimate Race Day on the SB100.

^that Atala is beautiful.
With the clock changing to standard time Sunday the sun was low by 4pm today. I felt sorry for all workers that wouldn't get out in time for a 75F day on November 7.
