Is there a cell phone-based cycling app for just mileage & time?
Don't want to stick a garmin or whatever on the front of my bike. Only care about mileage and time. Curious if anyone knows of a cell phone-based app that picks up GPS and can track route and time. That's all.
Something like push button = start, then tracks route, then push button and stop. (If it comes with other features, that's ok, but I only want to use the two.) Thanks for any tips! ![]() |

I only use the web based route planning function, but Ride With GPS has a phone app that you can track rides with, as well.

I’m not sure why you’d choose anything other than strava for this unless you specifically don’t want to use strava for this.

If you have an android phone jogtracker is a free app that works great for biking, hiking, walking or jogging. Liked it way better than any other distance app but only available for android phones.

Free versions of either Strava or Ride with GPS. I have both since friends often share routes from both services. They both sync/link with Garmin Connect so that routes are automatically downloaded to your Garmin GPS when you sync your device with the Garmin Connect app, either through Bluetooth or a wired connection. Very simple and free!

Yes, Ridewithgps, but, make sure your phone is fully charged at the start, and carry a supplementary battery, because GPS is a big power suck.

I am using the Goals-fitness free app and the free strava on my iphone 14 and they do not drain my battery but I don't like how they always want you to upgrade. |
