NC Pics

I borrowed the wife's digital camera for one of the rides I was able to sneak in on the family vacation. These pics were taken on the climb from Balsam, NC to Waterrock Knob. I think it's just over 3,000 feet at Balsam, and, according to the sign, 5820 in the parking lot at the top. Let's see if this works.

Hey, I've got a Serotta. The CSi is fixed these days, running a 47 x 17--afraid I might have to go to ... um, er, like an 18 or thereabouts for this sort of a climb. Yeah, that's it.

That looks so green, clean and cool! Tell me it wasn't hot. I'm dying in the heat here. Looks like a great ride!

Not hot at all--I did it late in the afternoon and it was actually slightly chilly in the shaded bits on the upper half of the climb; not enough to be uncomfortable in short sleeves, but I felt like the leg warmers were probably the right decision.
