It looks nice, checking the crowd pleasing boxes. I wonder what longer gravel race geometry really means since Salsa is typically quite high on the stack/reach ratio.
Not sure, but I am a fan of the general Salsa stack/reach skew.

Seven dropped the chainstay on this fence straddling buzz word barrage.

I wonder how similar the Norco Search XR Carbon is in ride quality. Norco frame warranty is 5 years. It appears to be a similar concept and geo, but with some practical accommodations and more sizes. A decent assessment of one a few pages earlier.

and most importantly, can the Upper droppah?
those Norcos are cool. I am sure they ride well. Problem is finding one. I talked to someone at NORCO said, unless you can find one in stores (ah, good luck with that), they won't have any new stock till the 2019 bike

Did they like make 7 of each size?

I've got no problem with the UP, Norco Search, or any other iterations of this in carbon, but I cannot get down with this Seven.

the Why cycles R+ manages similar clearance in Ti without a dropped chainstay. Same with the Search XR in steel.

What's that window/reflective thingy on the Warbird v4 chainstay?

It's a chainstay protector for when you drop a chain.

JohnH who frequents here is getting that Seven. I am stoked to see it. Last day of the blue Open. The Relevate top frame bag is awesome. The magnet fastener is really nice.

My guess is that someone tried those long ago and Open revived the design. If you look through pics of the early days of bicycles you can find a lot of crazy designs, some of which were later copied and extolled as a 'new' idea.

Wow! That Ritchey looks the part. I like everything about it.

What a great thread this is. Sometimes I don't look at it for weeks and then catching up to the new posts is very entertaining to say the least.
