St. Louis Velodrome

Looks like the city of St. Louis has committed money to do major renovations to the place (like $600,000+ kind of money). When I was at the University of Missouri a few years back, a couple of us took trips to ride out there. Was fun. Saw it as I flew out of Lambert on a layover last week. It's been neglected for years.

It appears that the nonprofit that helps run the place is doing a gofundme for some more funds to do the last bit of funding for the project.

Ol' Mr Bumpy Face !!!

Big Shark used to organize some races there once a week in the summer, but I don't know if they quit that or not.

It's fun to ride, but the bumps in the track (I think it's wood that's been covered by asphalt) are annoying.

I believe the track was repaved around 2005. Surface was better but I recall joints running from top to bottom.
Every so often there is a push to resurrect it.
Not exactly in a hospitable location.
