How about brewing your own, if your really into beer. Not only will you have some really tasty ale if you get proficient, but you can be creative as well. The key is to grind and mash yourself so that you have control of all the elements.
I even grew my own hops at one point, although you need the right climate for that. Home brew makes a great gift for the beer lover as well. |

I've made all different kinds. Last few batches.... blueberry mead (fairly sweet)... dandelion mead (liquid gold! not too sweet)... I think it was a ginger mead before that. I'm still experimenting with different yeasts.. but usually mine end up on the sweeter, dessert wine side.
