Oh, and lest I forget- COFFEE!
I vary based on the part of town I am in, but I like the Allann Bro's stuff. Full City seems to generally have well trained barista's, which I like. Hideaway is a great social spot, but I'm a bigger fan of their berry vessels than coffee. At home I drink mostly Spella's espresso as a medium pull (or as close as I can manage) double 6oz americano. I've had some clients send me some beans to try- it's always great to be introduced to new roasters. One of these days I'll start roasting again with a bigger roaster, but I had a difficult time keeping up with my consumption. Speaking of which, I should go make another cup... |

Eric is a really nice guy and would be very easy to work with. Living in the same town makes it tempting to get another frame but with kids in college and 5 bikes already I can be patient. He will be around I hope.
BTW-Full City is consistently good but the best place in town is Crema at Sacred Heart hospital. They pull great shots, though I have been relegated to decaf by my family and partners at work.

It was a pleasure, and it's always great to be able to shake a hand at the beginning and end of a project. A rare opportunity with so many clients being further afield. I'm looking forward to the direction on the new one, thanks!

That build was for a gentleman who lusted after an Italian racer in his youth, but was unable to find one in his size when the time came. After careful hunting for parts and a frame, he decided to shift gears and asked me to build him something reminiscence of that bike, but with a few modern updates in materials, things under BB cable routing, and a a few tweaks to a fit he had been refining over the years. It starts with an idea... Ralph wanted a Winter interpretation of a classic 70's stage race. I had been sitting on these Italian-type lugs for about 10 of their 30 years of waiting: their time had finally come. ![]() ![]() ![]() Good things come to those who wait- ![]() |
