Heck, I was even in Wellesley yesterday!

It is hard to imagine what you will replace this bike with. Grail bike is overused on this forum, but it fits here. My mental model is that you have deposits in with FF spaced out annually

Wow that frame is something else. I hate to ask but, dang, I'd love to be considered if the fit doesn't end up working for you. I don't usually love 650b on drop bar bikes but would love to see what that looks like with 2" tires.

Really nice. Hope to see it in person if you take it to Deerfield. I hope I had some influence in your desire for a carbon-ti FF...

Yours was definitely the first I have seen in the flesh and it did leave an impression!

After the first few rides it was evident that I needed a smaller front ring for the dirt and steeper paved climbs out this way. I used to run a 44t up front on my old Drifter, but had an 11-40 cassette in the rear. I like having 1-1 when I need it, so swapped the front ring out to an Absolute Black 36t oval ring to go with the 1170 11-36 cassette. It improved my experience on the dirt roads and climbs yesterday and the 36/11 was adequate enough for the beginning of the season on the pavement.

This bike is amazing! Not just the looks of it, but the performance is awesome as well. It climbs and descends with the best of them and feels rock solid. I was flying down one of the descents yesterday and had to bunny hop a large pothole that was not visible until it was too late. The bike handled it without issue even though I am pushing over 230lbs!

I know there are at least a half dozen folks who have asked that I contact them when/if I decide to move this one along, but in all honesty I don’t see this one going anywhere! Not only is it a rare bird, but I think it may be the perfect all around bike for me. Couldn’t have designed a more perfect bike myself! Likely going to liquidate most of the other bikes here and pick up a full suspension to go along with this my Psychlo-X and CHT.

New to me Firefly 831 allroad

Blasted around with 650b 42mm tires for a short ride today. Looking forward to riding it like this some more! Also put Leh shrunken buffalo leather bar tape and some roadrunner bags

Hows that tape? How much padding? I need some comfortable tape for one of my bikes, current tape is way too thin.

It is very comfortable and pretty thick. I rode gloveless and this stuff is very supple as well.

I have tried a lot of different leather bar tapes over the years and this stuff is very high quality. I had some Fabric brand Buffalo leather tape that I tried a few years ago and liked quite a bit. The Leh is thicker and more comfortable IMHO. Worth the $$$.
