OT: Shaking in NJ

4.8 quake this morning, at about 10:20 or so eastern, centered in northern NJ.

I saw the faintest of movement of my computer monitors at about the same time, here on Cape Cod.

Angry, everything okay there?

lots of brick buildings in the east coast. Bricks are exceptionally weak to earthquakes so i wonder what's the damage at the source

My family in Albany, NY has a group text chatting about it. It was felt strongly in the capital district.

I’m visiting Boston and felt it too while sitting in my friend’s kitchen. I wondered if it was an earthquake and just now read some news reports.

I'm the only person at my work who lives outside of NYC and Teams is currently blowing up with chatter. Hope everyone is safe.

Epicenter was Lebanon, NJ about 13-14 miles west of me. I felt the shaking for a few seconds but no visible damage here.

We live a few miles from the epicenter. I am usually working in that area as well but covering at the East Orange campus on the 8th floor. Felt the whole building shake for 5-10 secs. We didn't evacuate but Lyons NJ campus did. Some of those buildings date back to the 30's though.

Daughter is currently visiting NYC and she reports that she didn’t feel anything. But from what I see on the news, it felt like the metro train going by with a bit more shaking, so likely not hard to miss if you are in a busy area in NYC

I don't recall feeling any shaking this morning just outside of Boston, but oddly I experienced some intermittent internet outages around 10:20am - 10:30am this morning. Maybe just coincidence, but who knows?

CHOP sent out an email blast about it this morning as I was heading home from an overnight shift. Reported just that... epicenter in NJ and felt in NYC and Boston.

Wild.

East Orange...Lyons...
Are you at the VA? I rotated through the PTSD unit at Lyons during my intern year. I thought it was a great program.
