Yes, by all means, ban them all. But for no other reason than they’re hideously ugly pieces of machinery.

People often win time trials by taking risks, and the riders are under tremendous pressure to produce a good result/win so they often push them selves and the bikes perhaps a bit too far. I'm just saying they could do a technical course in adverse conditions more safely on their regular road bike as they once did.

You just described every sport there is. A TT bike free TT? For highly technical courses? Might be interesting, but I still don't see why it can't be done on the bikes they use. The winner is the guy who balances the risks with the payoff.

They should ban only for TTs, and make using them for bunch sprints mandatory..
