Aesthetics aside
This is about Specialized High End Road Bikes.
This is not a loaded question, I really like the company, but could never get into the road bikes. Lately they've been warmer to me, but I'm not 100% there yet. Not that it matters, I've no plans to buy one. Does anyone have a high end Tarmac? I'm not considering one, though the SL2 is kinda hot (and pricey), but I'd like some input on what people think of them. I'd also love to here from anyone in a shop that sells them. We spend a lot of tie talking about Trek and Cannondale, comparitively, but not as much on Specialized. |

Because we (I) get bashed and accused of working for Specialized.... I too, for the longest time thought Specialized road bikes were extremely vanilla and plain jane. I bought a Tarmac for the '06 season...Loved it! Loved it! I had ridden and raced on Kestrel, Trek OCLV, Cannondale, Basso, and Gureciotti. The Tarmac was the most comfortable from a ride standpoint bike that I had raced. I got a new Tarmac for this season...and it just gets better. Having said all of that, I too love the Cervelos. I think that the Soloist and R3 are some of the best handling and most responsive bikes i have ridden. I stayed with Specialized this year because of our team's contract. I am seriously considering a Soloist for next year. But, I haven't ridden the the SL2 yet...so I may be jumping the gun. PM me if you have any further questions...I don't want to be further accused of being Sinyards lap dog... |
