I agree. But I'll wait for the pricing first

That said, I wrapped my hands around 7900 a while back, and the shifters are much smaller and easier to grab for small hands which I like.

Agree with the wait for the price announcement, but the features look cool to me. I'm ambivalent about the aesthetics, but maybe it'll be better in person. If nothing else, I want the 11-25 cassette for my current compact setup.

To me

It looks like a Honda. And although Honda makes good cars, that is generally not a compliment.

I like the brakes, the wheels and, to a lesser extent, the shifters. Almost indifferent to the rest.

I know exactly what you mean. I feel the same way about Sony for the most part.

Maybe for the Red, but Force and Rival just looks cheap to me.

On another forum a poster from the UK mentioned RRP 900 GBP. If true that corresponds to a 50% increase over Ultegra SL.

I hear you... My Acura (Honda) Integra had 181K miles and never needed front brake rotors. My Mercedes has 25K miles and needs front pads and rotors... $1200!!! If Honda or Shimano made my car I could put that money into a whole new wheelset.

I heard the new price hike is because Shimano components are now free-range, hormone-free, non-GMO and certified Organic.

Maybe I can rock my own victory garden and plant my 6500 stuff. I should have a new group by harvest time--which, incidentally, seems to coincide with the beginning of CX season.

i hope not, esp if they are replacing regular ultegra with it as well...seems like they would leave a big hole in the lineup that way....
