Zanconato Aluminum Road Rocket

So, I sent Mike Z. a deposit a while back to have an aluminum race frame built.
My spot has come up and I couldn't be more excited.

I decided to build a frame around my Enve 1.0 fork that was pulled from my Hampsten (It now sports a gorgeous MAX fork with a Samson crown which was fabricated
by Curt Goodrich). When I contacted Mike I told him that I liked some of the characteristics of my old aluminum Merckx and maybe we could mix some of that with a Zank race bike. Mike loved the idea so we spent a fair amount of time on the phone discussing ideas and had a lot of fun doing it. He seems to be more excited about it than I am. Love it.

Anyhow, I am attaching the CAD with some rough coloring in Adobe Illustrator.
The color is going to be Candy Purple powder coat with Silver glitter and a dose of Eddy Merckx magic dust sprinkled in for good measure.
I decided to go for Red decals and Mike suggested matching them to a Red Chris King I7 headset. That is going to be rad for sure.

The build will be a Campagnolo Chorus 10 group (mostly), PMP Carbon seat post,
Flite 90 saddle, Deda Newton bars, Easton EA90 100 stem (blacked out), and Reynolds Strike 60 rear/ Reynolds Assault 46 front.

I should be seeing some weld porn soon and will post immediately.

BAM!

We decided to do a "stripper bike" and I think we nailed it.
He is going to tweak the colors so the decals read better than the drawing.

I really wanted fast back seat stays and Mike was happy to accommodate.
He sent me this for approval on seat tube placement.

Awesome! Love the bold colors. I also like the idea that you're able to work with Mike on integrating some of what's worked for you in the past.

I too am getting an Aluminato. I keep thinking red, but Hemi orange would be cool too.
I dunno, paint is always the hardest part.

I'm looking forward to this purple beauty coming together!

As far as I know the frame is off to be powder coated so it shouldn't be long now.
I just bought a new Chorus 11 speed groups for this build so it's going to be sweet!
