Thanks! Were you racing there too? Fun course!

It was definitely on the hot side for long sleeves but honestly I sweat so much during races anywhere above 60 degrees that I'll take the comfort/ease of a non-thermal ls skinsuit over a jersey/bibs even if it's slightly warmer. Plus the rain helped cool things off a bit.

Ouch! Hope you're not feeling it too badly today.

I'll be at one day of KMC. Maybe see you there!

That said, if you/craig wanna unload that very used and very abused - - fork when you are done with it, gimme a shout!
bad ass gaulzetti! good choice with going with the pmp topper!!! the old "stock" deda that came on my corsa is a boat anchor.

as far as tire clearance on the trp 15mm cross fork...I run a 47c wtb horizon no prob!

27.5 x 2.0 maxxis re-fuse is a tight fit, but clears by a couple of mm!!!

I actually managed to get my **** together and get my bike race-ready before cx season this year... which involved new:

- wheels (reynolds carbon/DT 350 mtb wheels from steep&cheap)
- tires (vittoria terreno dry 33 for the dry early season races. these set up tubeless incredibly easily on the mtb wheels mentioned above)
- drivetrain (chain, cassette, chainring, roadlink)
- chain guide (cheaper than an XT rear derailleur + tanpan, still provides security against chain drops, not that i had any in races last year even without the guide)

i'm excited to push myself this year and see if more time on the MTB has improved my handling at all.

i'm using a 44t chainring with an 11-40 cassette to facilitate non-race day adventures. for cx racing and even general riding which includes plenty of road to get to dirt, the gaps between gears aren't too bad and the range is nice for steep dirt climbs when i go to western ma. i'll probably never use the 40 in a race but it's not like the extra handful of grams really makes a difference.

Those wheels look great on there. Are they the Trail 29 (25mm wide internal)?

They're the Trail "LTD" which is listed at 29/21 external/internal, but it looks like that's how the Trail 29 is listed too. I think they are Trail 29 rims built onto DT 350's (non-Reynolds branded) in a deal Reynolds made with Competitive Cyclist. They've proven perfectly suited to CX tires so far, including some really hard impacts on roots not seen before they were felt.
