Thanks for all the compliments! I hope to get this built up soon but have been busy with work and other commitments. I plan to move over a Campy Chorus 11 groupset I have from another bike, and complement the frame with black components and Shamal Milles.

I originally wanted to do one of Dario's geometric schemes like Catch the Spider or Somebody. I think the stencils are available from Gita. Then, Matt Barkley (owner of Red Lantern Cycles in Menlo Park, CA) showed me a picture of the Black Magic Moots which convinced me that I didn't have to stick with an official Dario paint scheme. The final inspiration happened when I came upon a picture of this Zullo (another Italian builder known for his creative paint schemes), which Black Magic tweaked to make more Pegoretti-like:

I greatly respect Zullo and his paint.
That said, imo your Duende is just much better balanced and is smoother...really great proportions and placement.

Chorus 11 + Milles will be perfect.

So nice. Cool to know you can repaint a Peg worthy of the marque without the hassle of sending it to the man himself and waiting forever. Black Magic does some nice work, may have them paint a C40 restoration I'm contemplating.

That's an extremely sweet paintjob! Reminds me of Dutch AGU cycling shirts from the 1980's

Thanks for all the compliments! The build is taking longer than expected because the Duende takes a 29.4 seatpost, which isn't a common size. I'd rather not use a shim. I ordered a WR Compositi carbon seatpost and am just waiting for it to arrive from Italy...which might take a while

No, do not "despair". That was the 100% correct decision. WR Compositi are great components, and the shipping from their distributors/shops in Italy to the US is via DHL...very fast, very secure. The only delay may be if WR are producing a custom finish, etc. for you, but even then they are usually very fast (2 weeks max, I think, esp. for a smaller component).

Who did you order from? CicliCorsa, bikeonline.it, or Clemenzo? I suspect that they are all quite fluent in English, but if you need any help at all in communicating with any of them, and/or with Italian communication, do not hesitate to PM me and ask.

This will be a beautiful build, no doubt.
