YOW they took 10 degrees away - forecast to be ~ 17F from 1 to 4pm.
Twice as many degrees the next day... Booties and lobster gloves! |

Ti Designs and I are too foolish to cancel the ride yet--well, and skeptical of weather forecasts--but we are planning to check in on things tomorrow afternoon/evening and make the final call at that point. Fingers crossed... |

<<< the gusts we're having today >>> I hear THAT!
One of those big boxy rent-a-trucks got uncomfortably chummy on my ride home yesterday. Might have to hit the woods for a short one, then hot chocolate and SufferFest on the basement rollers. |

Well, with a projected high of about 20 degrees and sustained 20-25 mph winds with gusts up past 40mph, we've decided to pull the plug on the ride for tomorrow. Since this is supposed to be a pleasurable ride, it makes the most sense to wait for a day with more appealing weather conditions.
We'll post here again once we choose another date. Thanks to all those who have expressed interest! |

Yah I'll keep my eye open too, I don't have a ton of endurance fitness yet but the ride last fall was a lot of fun.

We're still finalizing the details, but it looks like the date will probably be Saturday, April 22nd in the morning. Early thoughts are to make the route 50-ish miles, with an option to increase it a few miles if everyone is feeling good. We're well aware that this is early in the season for most people, and will plan as such. Besides, Ti D and I are intending to do a loop to Wachusett two days prior, so I don't think I'll have the legs for an unofficial race version of the Next Tour! We'll post the final information soon. |

Details...
The Next Tour going to be on Saturday, April 22nd, leaving the Bedford Depot (the end of the Minuteman Bikeway, parking lot at 80 Loomis St.) at 8am. We're going to be modest with our expectations, since it's still early in the year: 50-55 miles, and I'll guess something in the vicinity of a 16mph pace. A Shaker Village...Bliss...springtime in New England...sound good to me! Send me and/or Ti Designs a pm if you think you'll join us. |

One more time (well, many more...), the Next Tour pulls out of Bedford station at 8:00am on May 28th for a little over 60 miles in the direction of Groton Ma and some baked goods.

Make that 7:00 from the Bedford depot - people like to ride early...

Quick correction: the start time will be 7:00am so that Ti Designs can get to work on time!
