Joe Shami's 500th consecutive Mt diablo Jan 14th sunday

"SHAMI 500! " Joe Shami (83 yrs young) is planning his 500th consecutive weekly ride up Mount Diablo for Sunday, Jan 14th! He has ridden up Mount Diablo every week for the last 9 yrs, 32 weeks regardless of the weather (rain, snow or cold). According to Joe, " I expect to cycle from home and go up Northgate, reaching the Park entrance by 8 am, and the Junction by 9:30 am or a few minutes later." Please share the "SHAMI 500" with your cycling friends. Also, please share this amazing story with TV Stations (message me on Facebook). Joe is an inspiration! You meet the nicest people on Mount Diablo!

What an inspiration! I doubt my body will be able to ride at Joe's age. One of my local riding buddies is 87 . . . not a mountain goat, but still riding. I'm envious.

Maybe he'll ride with the gang from Rivendell? They ride there quite often.

I would love to know what type of bike Joe is riding. Is it a vintage steel? Carbon? Enquiring minds want to know. My bet a vintage steel.
