Non-matching bar and stem

I have a lovely 3T stem that I'm going to match with an ITM bar. To my friends - complete sacrilege worthy of a lifetime ban on bicycle ownership.

Thoughts? You running a mixed cockpit? Does it anger those around you?

I couldn't find a 3T stem in my size to match my preferred ergonova bars, so I went with a Zipp instead. Works just fine. Most of the bar logos are covered by the tape anyway.

Easton bar, Thomson stem on the Strong. Have yet to be chased down and scolded for this. Then again my friends are half my age and up the road from me.

I usually cant find a stem i like in a make that also make a seatpost and bar i like. So i usually buy the ones i like best and then i make them all black without logos.

If yr options are alu its usually very easy to remove script and logos but not always..

Debadge them all, then they'll all match.

I run a few “mixed cockpits” and nobody gives me a hard time. Maybe it’s time for some new friends

HaHa HAAHA im going through this right now in my own head. my "friends" ridicule me anyway bc im not on Titanium or disc brakes or di2. take it in stride. its just paint and decals. I do however appreciate a nicely matched group of parts that is if everything fits appropriately and is comfortable to ride.

I try to do this, mostly because I am incredibly OCD about things.

But in some cases, I need a certain length or angle stem that is not offered by the handlebar manufacturer.

Also, removing graphics is a lot more work than it often seems, and sometimes the graphics are laser etched.

What...this is an issue? As DaveT sez: debadge them. I regularly do that anyway because, for the most part, I hate garish graphics.

Ah, they're just giving me the gears. It's how we show love. Now if I try to mix Campy and Shimano, that's deserving of a stick in the spokes...

FSA Energy compact bars which are black with red and white trim.
Mated to first gen Ritchey classic polished stem (and post). Got ride of the Ritchey bars a while ago and tried a white PRO Vibe 7S round, then a compact and recently got rid of that for the FSA cuz I needed less drop.

I actually like how it looks. Kinda 90's retro when lots of mismatching was going on.
