At first glance his new Modomio looks like one of the new LeMond frames.

i thought someone else owned the rights to the "serotta" name. is that why it's called "serotta design studio"?

i mean, they can't trademark his name when it's not a bicycle brand (although i'm sure specialized would litigate in a heartbeat over ambiguity), but a design studio can be any of a number of things.
it could be a yoga studio for all they know. |

He sold the right to use his name long ago, at least he can still make bikes.

the thing is, he doesn't want to 'make bikes.'
he wants to be an 'entrepreneur/visionary business leader' which history has shown he just ain't. if ben wanted to make bikes he could pick up a torch and start building frames with less investment than has probably gone into the branding and website for this new thing. if i sound cynical it's because i am.

IMO he should be building road racing, track and CX bikes starting just under 2K and putting them under the asses of amature racers across the country.

What happened to the "a"?
Rogue site page says aModoMio and AMODOMIO, and references "A MODO MIO". Graphics on downtube say "MODOMIO".

I hope that his indoor velodrome project in Reading, PA is more of a success than this framebuilding venture.

wonder if someone owns the rights to that. There's a lot of choices when it's over $4k complete. lots of luck.

I thought the plan a while ago was to launch Amodomio with Ben building the brazed frames and Frank the Welder building the welded frames. That seemed like a nice route. I'm curious to see how this develops now.

I rode Ben's brazed frame, and it was an AWESOME ride to say the least. Sadly not in the budget after I had the No22 (which I think suits me a tad better anyway). I think this new venture will be interesting, especially since he's hitting an awkward price point for an overseas built Aluminum disc frame. I'd also think the direct model could pose some challenges as it seems to me a lot of the strength of Serotta was also the strong dealer base that really helped people get onto the bikes |

A restaurant in Queens called Cucino a Modo Mio was busted for a cocaine smuggling operation two years ago.
