PRIME wheels?

Anybody heard of these? I just picked up a set of the rp-50s and am looking forward to racing them in 6 weeks at the season opener. Pulled my last set of evo cg's out of the celebrity rubber file and MAN those are some tough tires to mount!

Also, tried booting and mounting a couple of latex tubes I had lying around with holes...they both bubbled up like this. What's that mean?

Latex tubes will always do that outside of a tire. Wont be an issue inside a tire when there is pressure on the outside of a tube.

I think that Prime Wheels is a house brand of Wiggle/Chain Reaction.

Wait for it

Right up there with ‘far superior Italian threading.
I once put an ‘ad’ on rec.bikes.tech for little co2 cartridges using helium...still get calls(shop does) asking to buy them

That's actually one level down.

These are the RP's (upgraded hubs and spokes):

When you say "boot" do you mean patch? When one of those tubes becomes too far gone you can cut it up and have patches for life.

I just put that lezyne sticker on there. Then I inflated it and it bubbled as you can see. Same thing happened with both tubes that I had previously flatted on (incision). Should I put them back in and race on them some more, or do I risk flatting in lap 1?

I got a pair of the 38s that are set for disc and they look good. the wheels come with spare spokes, valve extenders, and cores for tubeless, qrs and adapters for through bolts. The wheels spin nicely (although I would like it to be louder when freewheeling). I setup it 38mm tubeless tires and all is good so far...I have yet to ride them yet...soon, very soon!

Looking at the same ones (I think- RP38 disc straight pull) can't wait to hear your review..

As said above the "snake swallowed an orange" thing happens with all latex tubes inflated outside of the tire. It's not a disqualifier.

yes, the RP38s but they are not straight pull. it's all setup on my winter project...I've been struggling with fishing internal hose through my frame and fork...ok the fork was easy, but I'm thinking I'll be able to bleed the brakes by the end of the week. maybe get in a first ride this weekend.
