Pinned threads or a wiki for mechanic items?

Just wondering...given mechanical questions that pop up here often, is it worth keeping a pinned thread for useful forumite answers for these technical questions...?

i.e. I'm sure people have posted a lot about how to properly clean wheel/headset bearings and which lube to use to not wreck a Chris King Hub...etc etc etc...

One question is how to keep information up to day as new equipment is released, etc.
