San Francisco Folks - rent me your 58 cm bike

If someone has an extra 58 cm road bike they would be willing to rent to me for about a week in the San Francisco area please let me know. Bike rental prices for nice road bikes are just too much! I even just joined Rapha Cycling Club only to find they are all out, and local shops are about 60-90 per day plus tax.

Looking for a 58 cm road bike, and can bring my own saddle and pedals (SPD SL), and can pay $40-$50 a day. Will be there from the 22nd until the 31st, and can pick up and drop off. I'm 6' tall, and 180 pounds, and will be cycling maybe 30 to 60 miles a day (hopefully).

Renting from one of you folks would be much easier than going to a shop. Let me know....hope this posting is not out of place, but thought to ask. Traveling with an infant makes traveling with a bike box sort of difficult! Cheers

i've rented a bike from these guys, among others in the bay area before - the aluminum roadies are $65/day and decent. they seem like reasonable folks, and they may cut you a deal if you're renting for the week maybe?

for what it's worth, another good idea is to just bikeflights your bike over to a SF shop and pick it up when you get there.

granted i have an S&S bike, but i thought it was going to be a MAJOR hassle travelling this summer with my bike and two kids, but it was an absolute non issue, so dont be too scared to do that either.

lucky for you SFO is about a billion times easier to fly through than LAX

Also, SFBay craigslist is chock-a-block with 58c bikes and usually good deals. Buy one, ride it, sell it to me

But seriously, don’t know if I gave a feedback review, but OP is a great guy and was easy to deal with when he gently twisted my arm to get the Pacenti frameset out of my garage and into his before I could build it up...

Also, Bicycle Blue Book is in San Jose and had great deals at times: https://www.bicyclebluebook.com/marketplace/buy

Funny that this thread popped up. I've been traveling out there occasionally to ride motorbikes with a friend but next time I head out, it will be to bicycle. I was wondering whether I should take a bike, rent one or just buy one and leave it there when I go out next month.

Maybe a Bay Area based Paceliner should start a rental biz for Paceline people (who have over 4,825 posts). I'll take one with a 57TT please.

Or, don't ride a bike at all.

Rent a scooter (50cc and less and you don't need a motorcycle license.)

I have an MC license so I rented a 250cc Piaggio MP3 when my wife and I were out this past summer and it was so much fun to get around.

I've rented from CityRide - cheap and easy to work with for a weekly rental. Their road bike is a specialized something or other.

I'd offer my Baum if someone didn't just smash a car into it...but this might be better.

Drive East?

If you want to venture out to the East Bay you can just borrow one of mine. Might cost you a beer, though.
